Dedicated Assistance & Referrals
The Support You Need, Exactly When You Need It.
Navigating the healthcare and social service systems can feel overwhelming, especially when you are managing your recovery and a family at the same time. At MOMs, we specialize in "guiding you from beside you," which means we walk with you through every step of the referral process to ensure you never have to navigate these systems alone.
Immediate Guidance
Your first point of contact is our dedicated phone line. This line is more than just a number; it is a direct link to a team ready to offer:
01
Empathetic Guidance
Someone to listen and provide direction without judgment.
02
Immediate Assistance
Real-time help for urgent needs.
03
Resource Referrals
Direct connections to the specific services you require.
We maintain a secure referral system and active partnerships with specialists who understand the unique needs of pregnant and parenting mothers in recovery.
Connecting You to Specialized Care
01
Local Healthcare Providers
We connect you with medical experts who specialize in:
Addiction Medicine: Doctors and clinicians who focus on safe, effective recovery during and after pregnancy.
Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN): Specialized prenatal and postpartum care that respects your journey.
Mental Health Professionals: Therapists and counselors who address the mental health challenges that often co-occur with substance use.
02
Addiction Treatment & Rehabilitation
We collaborate with treatment centers throughout the state of Virginia.
These facilities often feature programs specifically tailored for pregnant and parenting women.
Our relationships ensure you have streamlined access to the necessary recovery services.
Recovery involves more than just medical care; it requires a stable foundation for your entire family. We work with social service agencies to provide:
Comprehensive Social Services
01
Case Management
Personalized help to organize your care and goals.
02
Housing Support
Assistance in finding safe, stable living environments for you and your children.
03
Financial Assistance
Connecting you to resources that help bridge the gap during difficult times.
04
Counseling
Access to emotional support for both individuals and families.
We understand that many mothers have concerns regarding Child Protective Services (CPS). Our approach is to engage with local CPS offices to create a system that prioritizes family preservation.
We advocate for your family to ensure you receive appropriate support.
We help connect you to resources that ensure the safety and well-being of your children while keeping your family together.
Guiding from beside you means we respect your autonomy and individuality while providing the necessary support to navigate these challenges.
A Collaborative Approach to Family Preservation
“Having a substance use disorder during pregnancy is not itself child abuse or neglect. Pregnant people with substance use disorders should be encouraged to get the care and support they need — and be able to access it — without fear of going to jail or losing their children. Anything short of that is harmful to individuals living with these disorders and to the health of their future babies. It is also detrimental to their families and communities, and contributes to the high rates of deaths from drug overdose in our country.”
